Note: The Sullivan ReviewOctober 21, 1966 Arthur W. Yonkin, 72, of Dushore died Wednesday morning at Divine Providence Hospital, Williamsport. He had been in failing health for the past year. He was a lifetime resident of the Dushore area. A son of the late John H. and Agnes Litzelman Yonkin, he was born December 4, 1893, in Cherry township, Sullivan County. His wife, the late Mary McDonald, preceded him in death by approximately nine years He was employed in the textile industries in Dushore and Towanda for most of his lifetime until he retired in 1960. He was a member of St. Basil’s Catholic Church, Dushore, and its Holy Name Society. He is survived by five daughters, Mrs. Ivan (Ann) Tourscher of Williamsport, Mrs. Patrick (Agnes) Hanley of Rutherford, N.J., Mrs. John (Betty) McMahon of Syracuse, N.Y., Miss Kathleen Yonkin at home, and Mrs. John (Clare) Quigg of Elkton, VA; two sons, John H. and Arthur A., both of Dushore; a brother, Bernard of Binghamton; 30 grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Prayer service will be held Saturday at 9:30 a.m. from the Russell P. McHenry Funeral Home, Dushore, with Requiem Mass at St. Basil’s Church, Dushore at 10 a.m. The Rev. Father Bernard Grogan will be celebrant. Interment will be in the parish cemetery.
