Note: possible leads include: Samuel Scott b. probably York Co., PA early 1700's and went to Garrard Co. KY abt 1780-90 Some children stayed in York Co., PA, others John, Joseph, Samuel and Jane were in Garrard Co., KY married and raised families there. This is NOT the same Samuel Scott who raised a family at about the same time in Jessamine Co., KY They were from New England Matthew Scott who died in Rush County, Indiana in 1838, had the following children: Joshua, Violet, Caleb, Thomas, Polly, Timothy, Daniel, Israel, and Rachel. Most of his children were born in Kentucky starting around 1802-04. His father was supposedly a Gabriel Scott, grandfather, Thomas, and great grandfather, John. None of this beyond Matthew has been substantiated. Also we believe one of his wives was a Jane Phillips Euladels notes from her father said Israel's name was Jennings Scott (probably got it wrong?) Also said the Scotts descendended from the Sydles or NY Dutch
