Note: 1 NAME Katerine /WEST/ Katherine2 West(80584) was born in Northampton Co (now Acc Co), VA 9 Jan1634/35.(80585) Katherine West was baptised on 14 Jan 1634/35. Shemarried three times. She married Ralph Barlow before 12 Oct 1651 inNorthampton Co (now Acc Co), VA.(80586) Ralph was born circa 1620 in Cityof Southampton, England. Ralph(80587) was the son of Edward Barlow andJoane Rushton. Ralph died Jan 1652/53 at 32 years of age.(80588) (SeeRalph Barlow for the continuation of this line.) She married CharlesScarburgh 27 May 1654 in Northampton Co (now Acc Co), VA.(80589) CharlesScarburgh married Kathryne the sister of John West (formerly the wife ofRalph Barlow). Their marital agreement is at N'hamp Deeds, Wills, etc.,1655-1657, f. 20. A Charles Scarburgh, gentleman, made a marriageagreement with Katherine Barlow whereby she was to keep her cattle on theplantation of her brother John West. Charles was born circa 1625 in England. Charles died before 17 May 1681at approximately 55 years of age.(80590) In a lawsuit it was brought outthat Edmund Bowman had married the executrix of Mrs. Ann Charleton,deceased. Charles' wife Katherine would have been the executrix. (SeeCharles Scarburgh for the continuation of this line.) She married Maj. Edmund Bowman by 17 May 1681 in Northampton Co (now AccCo), VA.(80591) Although the event must have taken place some timeearlier, on 17 May 1681 there was a reference to Maj. Edmund Bowman(tract A92) as "marrying the esecutrix of Mrs. Ann Charlton," and shemust have been Katherine (West) Scarborough. She was Bowman's fourth wifeand survived him. Edmund was born circa 1620.(80592) Maj. Edmd Bowman was age 55 in May1675. Edmund died Mar 1691/92 at 71 years of age.(80593) Katherine was named in her father's will 12 Oct 1651 in Northampton Co(now Acc Co), VA.(80594) She was named as daughter Barloe in the will ofAnthony West and in the notes following the will it indicates she wasMrs. Katheryne Barlowe (the sister of John West and the aunt of JohnElsey). Katherine was named in her husband's will 22 Sep 1652 in Nandua, Acc Co,VA.(80595) She was named as wife Kathryne Barlowe and was given 1/3 ofwhat was given by her father's will in the will of Raphaell Barlowe. Thechild she was going with was to get the plantation in Nandue, which I nowlive upon. Katherine was living 17 Mar 1678/79 in Accomack Co, VA.(80596) It was onthis date that Mr. Henry Parke sued Mrs. Catherin Scarburrow as theadministratress of the estate of Mrs. Ann Charleton (deceased). Since noadministration had yet been taken out, the suit was dismissed. Katherine was living 21 Dec 1692 in Accomack Co, VA.(80597) It was onthis date that Capt. Nathaniel Littleton, son of Col. Southy Littletonand one of the grandsons of Maj. Edmund Bowman, brought action againstMrs. Catherine Bowman (widow of Edmund Bowman) and Mrs. Gertrude Cropper(widow of John Cropper), both executors of Bowman's estate.
