a. Note:   Joseph Dunn Obituary Joseph Dunn's 1910 obituary, written longhand in pencil but unsigned, accompanied Thomas Corwin Dunn's booklet on the Dunn Family History which he penned in 1906. Thomas may have composed this obituary himself, as he referred to "Our departed brother" at one point. However, there is no explanation of why the obituary refers to the mother as "Elizabeth Bowlman", whereas Thomas' family history names her as "Elizabeth Dorothea Boolman (pronounced Bowl-man)". John Raymond Copeland Upper Arlington, Ohio January 2002 Joseph Dunn, second son of John Dunn and Elizabeth Bowlman, was born in Washington County Maryland on the first day of January 1826, and died at Deweyville, Hancock County Ohio, October 20th 1910. He came with his parents to Ohio in 1828, and with them lived in Fairfield, Green, Knox and Wood Counties, Ohio until 1860, when he settled on the farm which was his home for fifty years and until his death. On April 12th 1883 he was united in marriage with Mary Niebel who survives him. He is also survived by three brothers, viz; Jacob B. Elijah T. and Thomas C. All his other brothers and four sisters have preceded him to the great beyond. Our departed brother was a farmer by occupation, yet he found time to store his mind with much useful information. His life was gentle, and he lived in peace among his neighbors, whose confidence he possessed in a high degree. In early life he united with a church and lived to the end the life of a consistent Christian gentleman, most loved by those who knew him best. His age, at the time of his death was 84 years, 9 months and 20 days
