Notes
a. Note:   Ephraim and his wife are buried in the Palestine Cemetery on State Road 25 east of the town of Palestine. They
 are buried in row 9.
Eph was a fisher by trade - someone skilled at recovering
drilling equipment lost down wells. He spent most of his
working years in Western Pennsylvania and Eastern Ohio, although
he was in Oklahoma for a brief time. He had been injured in a
drilling accident, probably in Oklahoma, that resulted in the loss
of parts of several fingers. Because of this, he retired and
 received disability compensation.
He believed that there was some sort of family estate or money in
Germany and believed, contrary to the current evidence, that there
was a link between his line and the Duchy of Saxe-Altenburg. He told
his wife that his father and uncles had sent a lawyer to Germany to
recover some of the estate, but the lawyer was never heard from again.
When WWI started it is recalled that he said ``There will be nothing left
Now; it will all go to finance this war!'' He was very proud of his
German heritage and spoke German fluently, as had the generations before
 him.
