Note: Edmund and Dolly along with his brother Reynold and their father started a Wheelwright and Smithy business in Takaka Golden Bay.
Later built a house in Springlands and had a business in High
Street Blenheim. During the war they leased a farm in Long
Valley not far from Havelock. After the war they bought their
own farm at Tua marina between Blenheim and Picton. In 1923
the Wairau River flooded destroying their farm and from then on
the family ran into difficulties - Edmund and Dolly became
estranged - Edmund moved to the Hutt Valley and worked as a
Coach Builder - he made attempts to get back with Dolly and get
her to move the family north but she refused and Edmund settled
in Auckland and started another family.
