a. Note:   William Brown lived on his father's lands at Westquadomset until 1733. In 1733/34 he bought the farm of Peter Ballou on the Moshassuck River, (now Saylesville, Rhode Island), which Ballou had built in about 1714. Patience Arnold was Eleazer Arnold Jr.'s daughter which makes her Caleb's first cousin. Her daughter, Patience, who married Caleb Arnold was Caleb's second cousin.
