a. Note:   Winfield Neel was born in Uniontown, Fayette County, Pennsylvania. Shortly after his birth, the family moved first to Kentucky and them Indiana. By 1854, they lived in Chili Township near West Point, Illinois. They remained in Illinois until when they moved further west to Courtland, Kansas and then settled near Marysville Kansas.
 In 1908, the family moved to New Mexico where they homesteaded on land near Moriarty, east of Albuquerque.
