a. Note:   Octavius also worked at Yosemite, and other locations in California and Arizona. During the time that he worked in Yellowstone National Park, he and two other men died of asphyxiation as they slept in a truck. Having been away from the family for two years, he had planned to return home for a Christmas homecoming but died in the accident a few weeks before.
