Notes
a. Note:   [Arnold.FTW] Amos and Mary Stafford are said to have had 13 children but records of only 7 can be found. The old Stafford mansion was destroyed by fire in 1767. Amos became blind shortly before his death and in his last illness, a daughter more than 70 years old was his affectionate nurse. The "Boston Post" under the date of Oct 10, 1760 in speaking of the death of Amos, stated that "he always supported a fair character and left behind numerous off-spring and a widow with whom he had lived in great union and tendrness for 72 years." He was noted for his industry, regarding four of the twenty four hours sufficient for sleep. His wife and her fanily were Quackers and he became a memeber of the sect about the time of his marriage. He was Town Treasurer of Warwick for many years and a Deputy to the General Assembly from 1705 to 1721. He resided in warwick where all his children were born.
