Note: Will of Samuel Burroughs (of John), SMC, 9/1/1813-2/16/1815, JJ#3, fol. 364. Son: Billy Burroughs, commonly called William Burroughs, a negro man named Bob in addition to what I have already given him. Grandchildren: Samuel Ward, Joseph Ward, and Susanna Ward, 20 pounds current money each when they arrive to lawful age out of the joint property I shall devise to my three single children, Ann Burroughs, John Burroughs, and Joseph Burroughs. The money is to be kept in the hands of my son Joseph Burroughs.
