Note: William Irwin Martin and Dolores Cox were never married. Christine searched several years before finding Bill Martin retiredand living in Placerville, CA. She went to his home on a chance ofmeeting him, when approached, he did not deny that he was her fatherbut did not want the rest of his family to know. Christine agreed tothis hoping to change his mind at a later time. At this meeting she also met his wife Helen, discovered he had 5 grownchildren (Owen, Darren, Wendy, Leslie, Robin). These are her halfbrothers and sisters. During the conversations, she learned his mothers family was Jewishand from Romania. No information about his fathers family wasdiscovered. Bill was a film editor, co-produce, and music director for variousTVsituation comedys. He worked on the "I Dream of Jeannie" shows andsome of Jackie Cooper (who was a good friend) and Burns and Allenshows. He also worked on a couple of films ("The Choir Boys" for one) Received and filed SS5 which was issued 7/12/1937 (age 13) with thefollowing information: Irwin William Rosenthal 5214 1/2 Fountain, Hollywood, CA. Employed by Hollywood Citizen News @ 1545 N. Wilcox Born: 12 Aug, 1924 in Pittsburgh, Penn. Parents: Harry Rosenthal and Esther Udman (note: Udman iwas hisgrandmothers maiden name). Rec and filed: SS5 0001 Not sure if Harry Rosenthal is his fathers real name and if so, whenhe changed it to Martin. In the conversation Christine had with Bill,he said his fathers name was Harry Martin Rosenthal and that hedropped the Rosenthal.
