Note: in 1896, traveled by train to first Colorado, then Idaho, ending up inSpokane, WA. Not much is known about what he did on this trip butassumed he worked at various jobs including working for the railroad. He appears in no census found to date. But found in 1913 Marcus Citydirectory owning property worth $340. P.O. Box Marcus. Also listed in book by Ruth Larking, pub 1976, Fred MachamerSchoolhouse being used in 1913 and new one to be build in 1915, page260. Story has it,Frederic had a 2nd wife after his divorce from Ollie May.It was told to Christine that he did not like this woman so hide moneyaway in his hat band until he had enough to catch a train out of town.She came looking for him at the station so he hid behind a newspaperuntil the train pulled away.
