Funeral services will be held, 12 noon Tuesday at the Kirby Funeral Home, with Rev. Harold Flessner officiating. Burial will be in Union Cemetery at Altamont. Visitation is from 7 P.M. to 9 P.M. Monday at the funeral home. Born February 21, 1892 at Altamont, he was the son of Francis and Anna McCoy Magers. He was married January 29, 1914 to Etta Ehlers who survives, with four children, John Francis, Danville; George, Bowie, MD; Madonna (Hershel) Scott, Martinez, CA; and Doris at home. There are also 8 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. He had farmed in the neighborhood for 43 years, retiring a few years ago and moving into town. A brother and two sisters preceded him in death. When they returned from church and a drive to find their home and yard full of relatives and friends who had come from near and far to help them celebrate their golden wedding anniversary. Mrs. Magers was the former Etta Ehlers. Their children, Mr. and Mrs. Hershel Scott of Martinez, CA, Mr. and Mrs. John Magers, and Doris Magers of Homer, and Mr. and Mrs. George Magers of Washington, D.C. planned and arranged a basket dinner at their lovely home. A lovely three tiered cake was the center piece of the dining table which was cut and served with coffee and tea to the guests in the afternoon. I was a perfect day, just right for taking pictures of family and gifts which were lovely. They received golden wrapped silver dollars from their children. Their anniversary is in January, but it was held now while their daughter, Madonna, is here from California. A highlight of the day was a telephone call from their son George. They and the Scott's will be visiting in Washington later this week. Those who partook of the sumptuous dinner and other festivities of the day were Mrs. and Mrs. Hoda Smith of Xenia, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Smith and children, Dan, Julie, Sallie, Hallie, and Sue of Wheaton, Mr. and Mrs. Monroe Sands and son Phillip of Champaign, Mr. and Mrs. E.
