a. Note:   From notes dated October 9, 1975 Elma (McCoy) Bryant 604 South 5th Street Effingham, Illinois 62401 Aunt Annie later married William Dickman, ( a widower with several children). She was then 40 and Wm. was 49. They were Married by Theodore Brink and the marriage is recorded in Effingham , in Book 2 page 154 Certificate #2000 ;~ Life Sketch of Mrs. Anna Dickman "Georgianna Magers Dickman" Mrs. Anna Dickman, daughter of Elisha and Caroline McCoy, was born on September 6, 1862, in Mound Township, Effingham County, Illinois, and passed away at her home east of Altamont September 29, 1946, her age being 84 years and 23 days. Practically all her life was spent in this community. On December 23, 1886, she was united in marriage to Francis D. Magers. To this union three children were born, namely George L. of Ridgefarm, Illinois, Flora Caroline, deceased, and James A. of Homer, Illinois.This union was broken by the passing of the husband and father in 1892, after which she and her children made their home with her mother of the McCoy homestead, east of Altamont until 1902. In 1902 she was married to William Dickman, who preceded her in death on November 27, 1942. One daughter, Arvilla, was born to this union and resides at home. She also leaves a sister, Mrs. G. F. Hightower of Coulterville, five grand children, and five great grandchildren, three step daughters and one stepson, namely, Mrs. Lydia Priess of Denver, Colorado, Mrs. Tulle Young and Mrs. Christina Combs of Altamont and Fred Dickman of Jackson Township; also their children, to whom she was affectionally known as Grandma Dickman, together with many other relatives and friends. At the age of 16 she gave her heart to Christ and united with the Dexter Methodist Church, transferring her membership to the Altamont Methodist Church in 1912. She lived a long and useful life and many times bore much suffering and pain, but her undaunted spirit and cheerful disposition will always be a cherished memory to her children and to all who knew her and loved her. Funeral services were conducted from the Methodist Church on Tuesday afternoon, October 1, with the Rev. J.N. Presley, assisted by the Rev. Lloyd Barnard officiating. Interment was in the ITinion Cemetery.
