a. Note:   home in LaGrande Oregon Written by Elma Bryant. Anna B. Beck, youngest child of Grandpap Magers and the only one to be born in Illinois, married David W. Beck in Illinois, moved to Leads, South Dakota, where two of her children, Earl and Leah, died of Scarlet Fever. They then moved to LaGrande, Oregon. Their one remaining child, Paul Beck was born at Altamont in 1895. He died in a veterans' hospital at Walla Walla, Washington, after being paralyzed for over ten years as the result of an accidental fall while working as a construction foreman. His first wife was named Marcia and they were parents of two children, Paul Jr. and Millicent. He and Marcia were divorced and he married Myrtle ? . The children lived, at the time of their father's death, in Portland, Oregon. Uncle David Beck died April 17, 1949, and Aunt Annie died May 11, 1950. They are buried in LaGrande, Oregon. Both died in the Oregon State Hospital at Pendleton, Oregon, being committed by the grandson, Paul Beck Jr. Uncle Dave was employed as a railroad mechanic. His hospital file was #5160. Aunt Annie's file is #2731. Son Paul D. served in WWI
