a. Note:   Elizabeth M. (Ehlers) Smith, 85 of Lake Placid, Florida, formerly of Altamont, died ant 11:55 A.M. Wednesday, April 5, 1997 at Florida Hospital South, Lake Placid. The memorial service will be held 11:00 a. M. Saturday, April 15, at Gieseking Funeral Home, Altamont, Illinois with burial in Union Cemetery, Altamont. Visitation will be for two hours before the service at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church Elevator fund or McCoy Club both of Altamont. Mrs Smit was born Oct. 14, 1909, in rural Altamont the daughter of Henry and Lizzie (Heseman) Ehlers. She married Albert Smith in Greenville. He died in 1980. She was a member of First United Methodist Church and McCoy Club, both of Altamont, and Royals Neighbors of America. Surviving are her son Kreed (wife, Barbara) of Lake Placid, Fla. Brothers, Henry Ehlers of Sorento, Illinois. four Grandchildren: and eight great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one daughter, four brothers and five sisters.
