Note: OBIT - OWEN COUNTY DEMOCRAT - 22 MAR 1928 - LAFAYETTE DYER SUCCUMBS TO ILLNESS Lafayette Dyer, age 69 years, formerly Superintendent of the Indiana Wood Products Co., in this city, passed away at his home on N. Montgomery street Friday evening, following a prolonged illness. Mr. Dyer was born and reared in Jefferson Township,Owen Co., and came to Spencer about twenty five years ago and has since been superintendent of the Wood Products Company. He was capable and dependable in all business entrusted to him. He had a host of friends who regret his passing. Mr. Dyer was a member of the Red Men Lodge and Haymakers. He is survived by the widow, a son, Ralph W. Dyer, and a daughter,Mrs. C. B. Kegerreis, both of Indianapolis. Funeral services were held at the home Sunday afternoon,conducted by Rev. N. G. Talbott and Rev. Allen Kenworthy.Interment was in Riverside cemetery. OBIT - 22 MAR 1928 - OWEN LEADER? - OBITUARY Lafayette Dyer, son of Robert and Elizabeth Dyer, was born near Freedom, Ind. January 17th, 1859, and lived his entire life in Owen Co. He died March 16, 1928. Age 69 years and two months. He married Ludella Dean and to this union were born two children,Ralph and Pearle. For the past twenty-five years he has lived in Spencer and worked at the mill which is now the Spencer Wood Products Co.,serving as a superintendent during the last few years. Mr. Dyer attended church and Sunday School frequently, treated his fellowmen kindly and died at peace with his Maker, leaving a host of sorrowing friends and relatives to mourn their loss and revere the memory of his gentleness. He is survived by the widow, Ludella Dyer; son, Ralph Dyer, and daughter, Mrs. C. B. Kegerreis, both of Indianapolis; three brothers, J. E. and King Dyer, Freedom, Ind., and Wm.
