a. Note:   eading all her life. She married James AllenWorley at the age of 17. She probably knew himall her life. They moved to Texas around 1881 or 1883, and stayed a year. They lived in thevicinity of Green Road, east of Lancaster. Jennie cried all the way to Texas and cried until James took her back to Tennessee. Once again in TN, she cried for her home in Texas and back they went toLancaster. In the Spring of 1887, they returned to Texas and settled on Otis Durrett's farm onBear Creek Road south of Lancaster. Later they moved to theHamilton Farm just west of Pleasant Run and I-35 (old Beckley Road) and ;then moved to Belt Line Rd. just 2miles east of Lancaster. Jennie never returned to TN. Times were hard and winters cold, and road practically impassable in winter. They were looking for better farmland than that they had left inTN. One wonders if they benefited very much as James remained a tenant farmer all his life. Jennie andJames came to TX with four children and six maore were born to them after they settled in Lancaster. They were "Dyed in the wool" Church of Christ and all their families except 3 remained in this church. In the winter of 1898, while James served on the Dallas County jury for a week, Jennie would hellp the boys milk and feed the stock. She took a cold wh ich eventually caused "abcess of the lungs". Her mother, Margaret Jane Gracey Rogers, came to visit her ailing daughter and remained until Jennie passed away on December 28, 1899.
