a. Note:   A hand-written family record I have shows Cynthia's birth date as April 16, 1776. I believe the year is wrong. Her husband was born in 1793. She was married in 1818. The children for whom we have birth dates were born from 1818 to 1838. If Cynthia were born in 1776, she would have been 62 when her last child was born.
  We believe that her year of birth may have been 1796. This estimate is born out by the census:
 In 1820 she was shown as 16-26.
 In 1830 she was shown as 30-40.
 Iin 1840 she was shown as 40-49.
  We found 5 of William and Cynthia (FIELDS) TEMPLE's adult children the 1880 U.S. Census.
  Sarah Douglass says her father was born in CT and her mother was born in NH.
 Jane Berry says her father was born in NHand her mother was born in CT.
 Mary A. Hayes says herfather was born in VTand her mother was born in VT.
 William E. Temple says hisfather was born in VTand his mother was born in NH.
 Christopher Temple says hisfather was born in VTand his mother was born in VT.
  I am guessing that Cynthia FIELDS was born in NH and her husband William TEMPLE was born in CT. There is an Ebenezer TEMPLE in the 1800 census for Stafford, Tolland Co, CN. The children's ages are close to the ones we know. Tolland Co borders on MA. This needs further research.

 Family records show that Cynthia Fields TEMPLE died on 15 Oct 1845, presumably in Madison Co, NY, where she had been living. We have yet to verify this information.
