a. Note:   The 1860 Wesley Twp, Will Co, IL federal census shows a Mary M. JOSLIN, age 31, born in NY. She was married to William Joslin, 28, a farmer born in NY. They had two children: Harriet, 6, and William A., 2 --- both born in IL.
  Living right next to Mary Joslin is Sarah Kemphill (should be Temple Douglass). Sarah had a sister Mary who was listed in Sarah's obituary as Mary Hayes of Fond du Lac, Wisconsin. It's possible that Mary Joslin was later Mary Hayes, but at this point I have no evidence of that.
  This theory has a flaw. If Mary's age is correct, she would have been born in 1829 in New York. We believe that the Temple family moved from VT to NY between 1830 (when they last appeared in the Woodford, Bennington Co, VT census) and 1833 (when Mary's brother William was born in Georgetown, Madison Co, NY).
