 "PHILADELPHIA COUNTY, ct BE IT REMEMBERED, THAT on this First day of February in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and Thirty Seven William Seffens (signature) a free white person of the age of twenty-one years, being an Alien, who has arrived in the United States after the passing of the Act of Congress, entitled, "An Act to establish an uniform rule of Naturalization, and to repeal the acts heretofore passed on that subject," passed on the 14th day of April, A.D. 1802, and who is desirous to be naturalized, did report himself to the Prothonotary of the Court of Common Pleas for the City and County of Philadelphia, in manner following, that is to say: That he, the said William Seffens was born in England in the County Middlesex or about the Thirteenth day of April in the year of our Lord one thousand Seven hundred and Seventy four and is now about the age of sixty four years, that he was born a member of the English Nation and owed allegiance to the King of Great Britain and Ireland to who he was heretofore a Subject that he migrated from Liverpool to the United States, and arrived at the port of Philadelphia on or about the Fourth day of November A.D. 1829 and that it is his intention to setle in the County of Philadelphia Recorded the day and year first WILLIAM SEFFENS (signature) above written by me signature of prothonotary __________________________________
