Note:   - Obituary of Effie Bays Virgin (paper unknown) - Oldtown Woman Claimed by Death - Greenup - Mrs. Effie Bays Virgin, 85, died Tuesday at 4:35 p.m. at the home of her son, Paul Virgin of Oldtown. Sh had made her home with her son for the past 27 years. Funeral services will be conducted Friday at 2 p.m. at the residence by the Rev. Omer Miller, pastor of the First Christian Church of Russell. Burial will follow in the Bays family cemetery near the residence. Mrs. Virgin was born May 23, 1873, at Oldtown, ad daughter of the late William B. and Adeline Jacobs Bays. She had made her home with her son for the past 27 years. She had been a member of the Christian Church of Oldtown for the past 65 years. Survivors include the son, Paul Virgin; four duaghters, Mrs. Lydia Baker of Greenup, Mrs. Gladys Counts and Mrs. Ruby Duncan, both of Raceland, and Mrs. Edna Smith of Oldtown; one sister, Mrs. Della Virgin of Oldtown; 16 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren. The body is at Riggs-Sammons Funeral Home where friends may call this evening and will be taken to the residence Thursday. - Obituary of Effie Bays Virgin (paper unknown) - Mrs. Effie Bays Virgin, 85, Is Taken by Death - Mrs. Effie Bays Virgin died at 4:35 p.m. Tuesday at the home of son, Paul Virgin of Oldtown. Sh was 85. She was born May 23, 1873, a duaghter of William (B.) and Adeline Jacobs Bays. She was the widow of Robert Virgin who died Nov. 14, 1931. Surviving ar the son and these four daughters; Mrs. Clarence Baker, Greenup; Mrs. Ruby Duncan and Mrs. Gladys Counts, Raceland and Mrs. Edna Smith, Ashland. A sister, Mrs. Della Virgin of Oldtown, also survives. Mrs. Virgin was a member of the Oldtown Christian Church for 65 years. Funeral services will be held this (Friday) afternoon at 2 o'clock. Omer Miller, pastor of the First Christian Church of Russell, will officiate. Burial is to be in Bays Cemetery on the North Fork of Oldtown.
