Notes
a. Note:   N282 Otto immigrated to the US from Kaenigsberg, Prussia (now Kalininberg, Russia). He states that he arrived in the port of Milwaukee in July of 1862. However, he probably came through Quebec, Canada and sailed through the Great Lakes before landing in Milwaukee, as this was the route for those who said their port was Milwaukee. He was mostly a candy maker (“confectioner”) during his working years. Worked for George Ziegler and Company and was a secretary for the Odd Fellows at one time. Celebrated 25 years of marriage with a large party and a news clipping in the local paper. It is unknown why he may have taken his own life, as “suicide by carbolic acid poisoning” is listed as his cause of death at the age of 62.
b. Note:   Union Cemetary
