Note: N5 Born in Milwaukee and went to work for Northwestern Mutual Life Insurance Company after he graduated from high school. He later worked for DuPont Corporation and traveled around the US setting up warehouses for DuPont. He married Mabelle in 1924 and was divorced ten years later. He dated Margaret Bobke for a couple years. He then began to work for General Motors and managed the parts warehouse in Milwaukee. He was transferred several times to Chicago and Detoit, but returned to Milwaukee where he was promoted to District Manager for Chevrolet Motor Division. That is where he met Doris. He was then transferred to LaCrosse, Tomah and finally Madison, where they raised their family and stayed until he retired. His retirement was forced - he was in the hospital for surgery, and when he returned home, there was a letter from Chevrolet stating that he needn’t return to work. After 25 years there, he was never given a retirement party or a parting farewell.
In his retirement, he was especially interested in reading and archaeology, and edited some courses at the University of Wisconsin after he retired. He developed Alzheimer’s Disease, and eventually died in a local nursing home.
