Notes
a. Note:   N314 I am uncertain if Emil is the brother of Otto or perhaps a cousin, but they are of the same generation and I have been unable to obtain Emil’s wedding registration to see who his parents are (although Otto was born in Kaenigsburg, Prussia, and Emil was born in Neumark, Eastern Prussia, which is now northwestern Poland, a distance of 250 miles, quite a bit in those days). Milwaukee County has no record of their marriage. Emil immigrated 1865, when he was 15, and Otto immigrated 1862, when he was 16. Emil was present at Otto’s 25th wedding celebration, and was also living with a Pielenz in Ohio in the 1870 census, so I am sure that they were related.
