Note: Located at intersection of Spout Springs Road, about six miles eastof Flowery Branch. In the earl days, Judge Samuel Fraser, GeorgiaCircuit Court, owned a saloon here and a short distance east on LymanSloan Road built a private race track. The Fraser plantation home wasa short distance southeast. The cross roads were originally known asFrazier's Crossroads." Slaveholders in Hall County in 1861 with 5 or more Slaves: W. H. Washington, D. B.Attorney. DECLARATION OF SURVIVING SOLDIER FOR PENSION. ACT OF FEBRUARY 14, 1871 State of Georgia, Hall County. On this 29th day of April, A.D. one thousand eight hundred and seventyone, personally appeared before me (1) John Wayne Clerk of theSuperior Court a court of record within and for the County and Stateaforesaid (2) Samuel Fraser, aged 81 years, a resident of County ofHall, and State of Georgia, who, being duly sworn according to law,declares that he is married; (3) that his wife name is BethshebaHamilton to whom he was married at Pendleton SC on the 17th day ofSeptember 1809; that he served the full period of sixty days in the(4) Military service of the United States in the war of 1812; that heis the identical Samuel Fraser who (5) was drafted in Captain MosesThompson company. Col. Copeland 3rd. Regiment, Johnson Brigade,Division, at Wilson County in the State of Tennessee, on the first dayof January, 1814, and was honorably discharged at Fayetteville,Tennessee, on the tenth day of May, 1814 that (6) he was marched toHuntsville, GA., he then marched to Fort (Deposit, then on to FortG_________?. That he received a land warrant in consignment of saidservices. Act. of 3rd of March 1855 and that he has not sold assetsor transferred said Warrant and cannot ______? that he at no time,during the late rebellion against the authority of the United States,adhered to the cause of the enemies of the Government, giving them aidand comfort, or exercised the functions of any office whatever underany authority or pretended authority in hostility to the UnitedStates; and that he will support the Constitution of the UnitedStates; that he is not in receipt of a pension under any previous act;(7) that he makes this declaration for the purpose of being placed onthe pension-roll of the United States under the provisions of the Actof February 14, 1871; and he hereby constitutes and appoints; withfull power of substitution and revocation, Charles C, Tucker, ofWashington, D.C., his true and lawful Attorney, to prosecute his claimand obtain the pension certificate that may be issued; that his postoffice at Hog Mountain, County of Hall, State of Georgia and that hisdomicile or place of abode is Hall county, Ga.
