Notes
a. Note:   Charlie Larson related a story told to him by Hazel Baseman after she had visited Wisconsion. Charlie said that many people deny the following story. The story goes that Ferdinand's grandfather was treasurer in Germany. The ruler at the time was removed from power and that Ferdinand's grandfather came to America with a lot of money, allegedly stolen or embezzled from Germany. The story goes on to state that when Ferdinand left Wisconsin for Minnesota he brought with him a lot of money, and that he may have gotten the money less than fairly.[zagger.ged] Charlie Larson related a story told to him by Hazel Baseman after she had visited Wisconsion.
