Notes
a. Note:   Leberich Otto formed the first band in the Northwest (midwest today). Other members of the band were his sons Herman, Gustave, and Robert as well as Geroge Krech and Theodore Damann. Family lore states that he also originated the St. Paul Waltz. He served in the German military as a cavalry trumpeter. Leberich was extremely popular, it was asserted that he never had an enemy, "even the Indians liked him". The Ford plant in St. Paul, Minnesota now stands on Cleveland and Otto Avenues where his farm once was. Otto Avenue was named after Leberecht.[zagger.ged] Leberich Otto formed the first band in the Northwest (midwest today).
