Notes
a. Note:   (per St. Casimir baptismal records) Lucia was born 6-1-1901, baptized 6-25-1901. Godparents were Michael Kwiatkowski / Anna Kantowicz. (per Jackie Hayes) The godfather is Mike Kwiatkowski. He was the husband of Konstantia Zasada (daughter of Joseph & Katarzyna). The godmother was Anna Kantowicz. I found something that just might work or it might not. In the 1891 Hammond City Directory I found a Martin Kantowiscky living at 86 Douglas. In 1900 Pauline Zasada the widow was living on Douglas. Looking at a mapquest map Douglas St. is one street north of Ogden. All the addresses I checked on both streets are quite close to S. Hohman which is the first street east of the State Line (running parallel to it). I used that name and found a Martin Kantowicz in Thornton Twp in 1910. He was a bit old. He and his wife were both 70 and were both on their second marriage. But they'd been married for 30 years. They immiagred from Poland in 1883 so were married their. They had two sons with them, Joseph was 29 and born in Poland and John was 21 and born in IL. Did I forget to mention the wife's name? It was Anna! I looked carefully at the 1910 census. Anna had given birth to six kids with only two alive. That would be the two boys. But could Martin have had children from his first marriage. Could there have been a boy who married a girl named Anna? I did find one marriage record - Albert Kantowicz m. Anna Smetek in 1884 at St. Stanislaus Kostka. That is in or near that neighborhood I just told you about. I found Albert & Anna in 1910. They were in Chicago but were in their mid 40s making them contemporaries of Frank Zasada. Again, pure speculation. But, here is one little tidbit that just makes the speculation seem reasonable. In 1900 Andrew & Lucy Novak were living in Hammond, IN in the house right next to Frank & Frances. It was a two unit. The tenants of the other unit were Martin & Ann Kantowitz. Where there's smoke there's fire. We just find these people not just living near each other but practically living on top of each other. They just have to be the right people.
