Obituary found by Karla Brown of the Palestine Public Library: --------------------------------------------- Palestine Herald Press September 21, 1960 Services today for Mrs. Brown Funeral services for Mrs. Lula B. Brown, 87, of Rt. 1, Elkhart, were held at 3 p.m. today in the First Baptist Church, Elkhart. Rev. Earl Watson and Rev. Charles Crim conducted the final rites and burial followed in Pilgrim Cemetery. Grandsons served as pallbearers. Mrs. Brown was born August 13, 1873, and died Tuesday at 5:15 p.m. in a local hospital following a long illness. Survivors are four sons, E.A. Brown of Elkhart, F.J. Brown of Freeport, S.J. Brown Jr. of Houston and G.C. Brown of Waco; two daughters, Mrs. Myrtle Seymour and Mrs. Bertie Davis, both of Elkhart; 32 grandchildren, 32 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild; three sisters, Mrs. Maudie Honeycutt of Terrell, Mrs. Dora Scroggin of Palestine and Mrs. Ruby Funderburk of Alamagordo, New Mexico; two half brothers, O.F. Ray and B.C. Ray, both of Palestine. Arrangements were by Hassell & Foster.
