Note: A.J. served in the Pacific at the end of WWII and spent time on Okinawa. He worked at the Vaught factory in Grand Prairie for many years. Seymour, 80, passed away at home with family present on Friday, February 8, 2008. Seymour was born in Elkhart, TX and joined the U.S. Navy at the young age of 17 serving in both WWII and again during the Korean War. He retired after 40 years of service at LTV Aerospace as a quality engineer. In 1953, he married Joyce Weaver and remained married for 54 years. A.J. was a member of the First Baptist Church of G.P. for 48 years, a member of Sam R. Hamilton Masonic Lodge, 32nd Degree Mason and member of the Scottish Rite Temple of Dallas. Throughout the years, he coached little league baseball and volunteered at the Scottish Rite Children's hospital. A. J. was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. He enjoyed spending time with his grand children and sharing time with close friends and family. A.J. was preceded in death by his brother, Clarence W. Seymour of Grand Prairie and granddaughter, Anndrea Nicole Ruderer. Survivors: Wife, Joyce Weaver Seymour; son, Mark Seymour and wife Cynthia; daughter, Sabrina Ruderer and husband Andy; sister, Louise Vickery of Grand Prairie; grandchildren, Ryan Ruderer, Jessica Seymour, Adam Seymour and Ross Ruderer; several nieces and nephews and a host of relatives and friends.
