ANNA EMERSON Anna E. Emerson was born April 3, 1869, at Nightstown, Indiana, the daughter of John and Hannah Holloway, and departed this life March 23, 1948, at Stockton, at the age of 78 years, 11 months, and 20 days. As an infant she was brought to Washington county, Kansas, where the family lived for a short time before moving west to settle at Kirwin, Kansas. In 1886 she was married to James E. Emerson and to this union eight children were born. Mr. Emerson passed away March 25, 1941, and two sons, Russell and Ray, and one daughter, Etta, preceded their mother in death. Five children survive: Elmer and Albert of Stockton; Eugene, of Naponee, Nebr.; Lloyd, of Caldwell, Idaho, and Mrs. Jessie Snyder, of Pampa, Texas; also surviving are eight grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Mrs. Emerson had lived in Stockton for 22 years and was a member of the Main Street Christian church. The funeral services were held Thursday afternoon at the Smith memorial chapel and burial was in the Bogart cemetery.
