a. Note:   William Rolph Price was a veteran of WW-1, where he served in the Navy. After the war, he went to North Dakota, where he met Rena Cynthia South. He was working on a farm, called Hill Crest Farm, for a banker who owned several farms in the Sarles,North Dakota, , area. It seems that John M. South, the father of Rena C. South, was having trouble getting his grain bundled, to dry for threshing, because of a wet summer. He asked Mr McMillan, the Banker from whom he rented, for help. Mr McMillan sent Louis South and William R. Price over to help with two Binders and a team of four horses, each. This took about three weeks to finish up, and it was at this time that Rena and William became acquainted and later married. Mr Price had traveled around the country and worked at different farms in , Red Lodge,Montana, ,Fair View,Montana, , Hansboro,North Dakota, , Sarles,North Dakota, ,Granville,North Dakota, ,Hannah,North Dakota, , Hinesville, Illinois,,Deering,North Dakota, and Wyoming, Park,Wyoming, before settling in Cass Lake, Minnesota, and going to work for J. Niels Lbr. Co., for whom he worked 20 years, in Minnesota, and Klickitat, Washington He left there in June 1944 and moved to Portland,Oregon, at 3241 S.E. Taylor Street, where they lived until their deaths. Her parents moved to Cass Lake, Minnesota, and bought a farm near South Pike Bay, Pike Bay Twp., Cass Co., Minnesota, William Price , after some persuading from Rena South, came to Cass Lake, Minnesota, and went to work for J. Niels Lumber Co.. They were married 25 Dec 1923 . Shortly after that , Abt. three days, Mr. Price went with J. Niels to a new Sawmill at Klickitat, Washington . His wife Rena followed in the spring of 1924 . He worked there for twenty years. In 1944 he moved to Portland, Or,, because of a hip problem brought on by working in the same motion for those twenty years.( Sorting Lumber on the Dry Train ) He obtained a job with Carnation Milk Company, and became after a few years, the Head Cheese Maker, until he retired. He died in his sleep,(Morphine induced) and was cremated. Marriage, Birth, Death,Obits, Family Photos, Military Service Records, S.A.R, D.A.R., Pioneer Certificates and many other records about this entire family are in possession of Merle R.
