Notes
a. Note:   This is a copy of biographical material put together by Minerva South Smith in 1979 for publication in a book about the area called"Along the Wapita" published 1981 by Ronalds Western Publishing Company Ltd. of Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. A copy of this book is in possession of Merle R. Price (Nephew) We were just in Edmonton seven days when the youngest in the family, Rena South, was taken ill. A Doctor was called and he pronounced it Scarlet Fever. Father was home so he was quarantined with the rest of us. Rena was just up and around when I came down with a rash, two weeks later an older sister , Blanche, was taken ill. All told we were quarantined for several months. Funds were running low and Mother decided to take in a boarder as soon as we were out of quarantine. (My future husband was the boarder) We had a difficult and adventuresome trip up the Edon Trail to Saskatoon, but we made it and all prospered through the years.
