a. Note:   He learned Carpentry at his Father's Shop and worked with him , until he was 20. In 1860 he went to Delaware City, Delaware and worked in a general merchandise store for 2 years, until he bought it. He was in partnership with Charles G. Ash for three years, until he sold out and went to work as an engineer on the building of the Delaware City &Pennsylvania, Railroad. He worked for 12 years in a Lumber dealership. He then became a farmer. until he was appointed Postmaster by President Arthur, and re-appointed by President Harrison. He served in the Co. F. 5th Reg. Delaware Vol. Inf. also the 7th. Vol. Inf. and served at Havre De Grace and Parkston, Maryland,for the Union Army during the Civil War. All this family were Presbyterians , and went to the Church built by his Father , Thomas Cleaver Price.
