Notes
a. Note:   H00011
Note:   Ufke's obit only mentions daughter Renke (Saathoff), sons Jann and Hinrich, a brother Harm in Illinois and a brother still in Ostfriesland. (I think the Renke is supposed to be Nancke?)
In 1900, Ufke is living with his son Henry and his family in Richardson County, NE. He is 74 years old, a widower, birthdate listed as January 1826. The column for year of immigration is blank. Ufke did not marry while in Aurich-Oldendorf, so they probably married in Illinois shortly after his arrival, since all children are born in Illinois. Should check Menard County for early marriages and Naturalization papers for year of arrival.
By 1880, Ufke and Mary are in Richardson County, NE. with Henry, Nancy and John (age 12). 4 houses away is H.H. Harms age 24, born Ill., his wife Sarah, age 21 and his brother William age 22. In 1860, the family is in Menard County, IL
Ufke Harms, 27, traveled on "O Thyen", departing from Bremen and arriving in New Orleans on 8 November 1854.

Note:   Most of this data was taken from the "Die Familien der Kirchengemeinde Aurich-Oldendorf (1700-1900)", compiled by Ludwig Janssen, 1968. The references are to the family numbers in the book. There are many more ancestors recorded in this line.
