Note: ta, in the Owltown district of Union Co., GA, perhaps three miles from Lon's home in Arkequah district. Zora had never been married before, and now took on the task of helping raise Lon's daughter Mary who was now 14. Daughter Bonnie (27) was still at home, as was son Carlos (20), though they were soon to relocate. Zora and her sister Laura filed Cherokee Indian applications in 1911, stating their great-grandmother Rebecca Scruggs was of Cherokee lineage.
