  The exact birth date of John is not certain. The best evidence would be a church record, but no record has yet been found. From census data we see different projected birth dates as follows:
  1850 Census age 21 birth date Abt. 1829 1860 36 1824 1870 43 1827 1900 77 1823 Jordan's book History of Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania, states his birth date is 1824. I am inclined to believe 1824 is correct.
  The 46 acres purchased by John Newhouse are located just north of Delmont, PA
