Notes
a. Note:   Lavinia aka "Vinie". She is not in Josial's will and did not live with him when he died. Therefore she probably died between 1901 and 1907 or was separated. The 1901 deed states she lived in Pittsburgh and he in Hempfield Twp. Must check 1910 Census for Pittsburgh. She appears to have been divorced from her first hushand, George E. Stoker.
A two story brick house and lot in Delmont (then called New Salem) was sold by Jacob Newhouse, brother of Josiah to Lavina's father, John Rumbaugh in 1879 for $500. After John died, his wife Mary sold the property to her two daughters Lavinia and Zora in 1891 for $750. Zora sold her share to Lavina in 1893 for $600. Lavina sold the property (or her share, as she was married to Josiah Newhouse) to John McCreary in 1901 for $250. But Josiah did not die until 1907 and does not mention Lavinia in his will. Therefore, it is my theory that they were divorced and the sale to McCreary was part of a settlement.McCreary might have been an attorney.
