Note: On May 1, 1796 she was a communicant at Shoops church, Dauphin County. Ma gdalena Stauffer is a very common name in Dutch country, PA. Her paren ts are uncertain. Those given here was taken from two internet sites: Ha rt Family Pennsylvania Dutch Genealogy Database and the Stauffer Genealogi cal Database. That John (Johannes) was the father of my Magdalena is sugg ested by his daughter's date of birth being close to the date of bir th of John Zeitter and by the fact that John Stauffer, although from Warwi ck Twp., Lancaster Co., PA, is thought to have lived later in Lower Paxt on Twp., Dauphin Co., PA. Her older half-brother is buried near Campbellt own, Dauphin Co., PA. A note in "Stauffer Genealogical Database" says th at Susanna and Magdalena were mentioned in the will of their step-fathe r, Oct. 27, 1776. In 1824 she bought a lot (#8) in New Buffalo from Peter Arnold (Perry C o. Deed Book B1, p. 10). In 1820, her son David bought the same lot fr om her husband Jacob Baughman. In 1822 her son sold the same lot to her f uture husand Peter Arnold. 1824 Peter Arnold sold the lot to Magdalen a. Perhaps she bought it for her daughter Susannah. The Perry Co. Forrester of October 12, 1826 carries the folowing notic e: MARRIED. On Tuesday the 26th ult. by Wm. Linton Esq. Mr. Peter Arnol d, Sr., aged about 80, to Mrs. Magdalena Baughman, aged about 70 years a ll of New Buffaloe, Buffaloe township. In the 1830 census she is 60-70 with Peter Arnold 60-70 and 1f 0-5 in N ew Buffalo, Perry Co., PA. I presume that the girl is her daughter Susann ah's daughter Mary M. Graybill. Her daughter is just next door with 1f 0- 5, probably her son Thomas D. Graybill, and 1m 30-40. The male might be h er husband Harmon. She calls herself Susana Cider, because, I presume, s he is pissed at her husband who is about to leave her for Iowa. I cannot find her or her husband in 1840 and they may be dead.
