Note: Baton Rouge Morngin Advocate Obit: Ansel C. "Punk" Zeigler, 73 and a resident of Springville, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday April 14, 2006 at Baton Rouge General Medical Center Blubonnet in Baton Rouge. He was an active member of Colyell Baptist Church. He was also a charter member of the Tickfaw River Hunting Club. He retired as a superintendent with the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development. He as a veteran of the Korean Conflict and served his country in the U.S. Army. Visitation will be at Colyell Baptist Church, Colyell, on Sunday, April 16, from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. and Modnay , April 17, from 9 a.m. unti time of service at noon. The Rev. Paul Taylor, the rEv. Craig Forque and the Rev. Tim Norris will be officiating. Burial will be in Colyell Baptist Church Cemetery, in Colyell. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Evelyn Cox Zeigler, son and daughter in law Ansel Jr. and Andrea Zeigler, daughter and son in law Gail and Steve Hilbun: eight grandchildren, Amber Little and husban Shawn, Trey Zeigler, Trent and Amanda Acosta, Crissy, Cindy, Steve and Rica Hilbun: two great grandchildren, Seth Bourdelon and Olivia "Libby" Little: as well as numerous friends and other relatives. He was preceeded in death by his parents, Colyear and Wilma Averett Zeigler, four brothers: Kenneth, Horace, Ovide and John R. Zeigler: and a sister Lemona Zeigler. The pallbearers will be Lucky Needham, Milburn and Marvin Zeigler, Leroy Golman, Tom Burkes and Landon Devall. Services performed under the direction of Seale Funeral Services Inc. Denham Springs.
