Note:   Notes From Dan O'Gorman: Grandma says that people have tried to track her lineage down in the past and gotten nowhere. Andrus does not seem to have been a popular name in St. Louis at the time. She thinks her family may have come from the Southern U.S., possibly VA, but I don't know that there is any solid evidence for this. Grandma of course has a great many memories of her Grandmother Carpentier, as she was around until 1934. Still, as a girl she wasn't as close to the Carpentiers as she was to the Hannagans. She grew up in the Hannagan household, after all. She remembers her as a very dignified woman, and has some pictures of the family. She recalls how one summer when they were visiting with the Carpentier's that they went to St. Michael's in Shrewsbury, which was much closer than the church the Carpentier's had been accustomed to going to. When Grandmother Carpentier found out, she was very upset that they had gone to a "German parish".
