Notes
a. Note:   Ferdinand, as he was called, was a pharmacist by profession. Through marriage he acquired possession of the Kron-Apotheke (the "Crown Apothecary") in Biberach, where he had previously been employed as an assistant, and turned his parents' apothecary over to his younger brother (Gen. 59). Oil paintings of the couple are owned by Max Widenmann of Stuttgart, while other portraits of them are possessed by Eugen Staib. Richard Graner of Stuttgart has pastel paintings of them, and another picture is in the hands of the present owner of the apothecary, Mrs. Annemarie Neukirchen (see Gen. 101). Mrs. Ursula Baur of Salingen owns a daguerrotype of Regine Magdalena and a drawing of Ferdinand done by Pfann and dated 1858. Their names appear on a memorial stone erected in the Evangelical cemetery in Biberach.
