Note: Potsdam Courier Freeman, 31 Jan 1912: During the holdiays Mrs. Anna Day Harrison presented her music loving friends with a nice copy of sheet music. The title page revealed the fact that the giver was also the author of both the words and the music. Those of us who have for a long time known of her poetic nature and musical ability were not surprised that some of her work should appear in this form. The piece is entitled "Let the Gay Old world Roll On." It has a bright, easy movement and the words are catchy and pretty. Whenever it has been sung it has elicted applause and very favorable comment. It cannot help but strike a popular chord: Sitting by the fire at twilight, when the sun is sinking low, Thinking of the girl who loves you while your heart is all aglow, Thinking of the time when soon she will be mine, O, that is the happiest time I know. Refrain: Let the gay old world roll on, We will laugh and sing our song, For her love is pure and forever will endure, Let the gay old world roll on. Published by the F. B. Haviland Co., 125 W.37th St., New York of whom copies can be secured or of the author, Nicholville NY.
