Notes
a. Note:   Nr. 10 Brisker Gass.-- Note that despite the record in the Population Registry that Asher wasdeported in Sep. 1942 to Mezritch, according to his son's book,Podlasie in Umkum, Asher continued to live and work in Biala at a workcamp until Dec. 1942, when he narrowly escaped execution together withhis son, Moshe Yosef. He later died after jumping from a death trainheaded for Treblinka sometime in 1943. Rivka reports that Asher used to organize his own minyan for prayerson Erev Shabbat and Shabbat day. The Minyan would be held in hiscarpentry shop on the Brisker Gass, adjacent to their home. Theminyan was known was the ' damske minyan" ladies minyan, because theparticipants were not as stringent in their religious practices asothers in the town, including Asher's own brother, Uziel (Zileh). Theyhad their own sefer torah.
b. Note:   Zileh's brother, I did find his marriage certificate. [Biala PodlaskaMarriage Records for 1901, Akt. 9; Record Ordered]. He was married toChava Sura Rosenbaum on 14 February 1901 in Biala. He was 19 yearsold which means that he was born in or around 1880 or 1881 and wastherefore 6 years younger than Zileh. Chava Sura's parents are listedas Itzko (Yitzhak) and Basha Gittel Rosenbaum. She was 18 on herwedding day
Note:   Although I have not located a birth record yet for Usher Faigenbaum,
