Notes
a. Note:   Maiteh Gershberg, dated 17 June 1872 in Biala. [Biala PodlaskaMarriage Records for 1872, Akt. 12, p. 86, Record Ordered]. These areGrandpa's maternal grandparents. This record gives us Yankel'sparents for the first time. They are: Abram Blustein after whomGrandpa was likely named and Rifka Wulfowicz. Yankel was 20 years oldat his wedding and was thus born in or around 1852. Maiteh we knewwas the daughter of Dan and Etta Gershberg. She was 16at the huppahand therefore born in or around 1856. The officiating Rabbi was WulfBarenstein. Grandpa said that Yankel was called the "Kronyetzer"since he supposedly hailed from the town of Kronyetz. But the recordseems to indicate he was Bialan through and through. Maiteh appearsto have been from a large family. I found records for many of them, but cannot as yet place them in the family tree. More research willbe required.
