Notes
a. Note:   , D.C.: Humphrey Publications, 1994), p. 502. (from records of St. Michael's Lutheran Church, Germantown) Lists the birth of Sebastian Treuz in 1753 to Jacob and Christina (Gmehlin) Treuz. Also: In his will Mathias Gmelin states that his three daughters Christina, Rosina and Sophia are to receive 80 pounds after his death. The account of Jacob Wentz, surviving executor shows the following: p'd Jacob Treitts, a legacy left by ye will 80.0.0 p'd Peter Wentz do 80.00.00 p'd John Epple do 80.0.0 Since it is known that Sophia married John Eppley, then Jacob Treitts would be the second husband of Christina and Peter Wentz the husband of Rosina. !NOTE: All online family sources give Jacob's wife's name as "Elisina" but the Lutz Mountain Heritage Museum has the following info online: "Although, very little is known about Elisina, it is assumed they were married about 1748/49 in Pennsylvania... ...A declaration signed in her presence gave her name as "Christiana", while she signed "Christina" in June 1790." <http://lutzmtnheritage.ca/TritesHistory.shtml> That comtemporary sources show her name as Christina would indicate that "Elisina" is the result of a misread document, copied into someone's research and recopied over and over. The name "Christina" written in German handwriting, could be very easily misread as something similar to "Elisina."
