BIRTH: UNPROVEN. From WorldConnect database <simris2k>. Databases <astrahan1> and <lukespence> agree with 1726, but show no month or day. All unreferenced. MARRIAGE-CHILDREN-DEATH: Will Bk Vol 1, Bk A, p 140, Edgefield Co, SC. Will made 9 Dec 1794, recorded Oct Term 1795 or 1796 [unable to determine], Edgefield Co., SC. Will names wife [Martha] and children. Some researchers show two marriages - one to Martha Armistead and one to Martha Bott. PARENTS: Unproven. Parents were James Hall and Ruth Evans, per Melba Roshto, Pineville, LA, (herself a descendant of Daniel O'Quin and Barsheba Hall) - chart only - no documentation. Other researchers on WorldConnect databases agree with father being James Hall, but some claim mother was Ruth "Epps" rather than "Evans". NOTES: Possibly served in RW from Mecklenburg Co, VA . Carol Anne O'Quinn in 1990 joined the NSDAR based on service of James Hall "Captain of Mecklenburg Co (VA) Militia, took oath as captain 12 Aug 1777". Cross referenced to DAR # 688370". I lend to my beloved wife MARTHA HALL during her natural life if she remains a widow, seven negroes, named Sam, Frank, Hannah, John, Patt, Catto, Siller and her child Delola and her increase, but if she, my said wife marries, then she shall have only one negro, Hannah and the remainder of said negroes to be equally divided amongst my children, WILLIAM, JOHN, THOMAS, JAMES, ARMSTED, LUCY and PRUDENCE HALL, and also she, my said wife is to have and possess the tract of land that I now live on during her life, and at her death, my will and ord is that my son THOMAS HALL shall have posses and enjoy all the land that I own and posses on the south side of Turkey Creek together with two hundred and twenty acres on the waters of Little Turkey Creek, and my son, ARMSTED HALL to have all my lands on the west side of Turkey Creek and I leave all my house furniture in my wife's power to give and dispose of to my heirs, as they have ocassion or as she thinks proper and likewise she, my said wife to have my stock of cattle, hogs, and sheep with four head of horses kind (vz) Buck,Golish, Paul, Jerry. Item. I give and bequeath to my son WILLIAM HALL one negro man named Adam. Item. I give and bequeath to my son JOHN HALL one negro boy named Lewis and one bay horse named Jolly. Item. I give and bequeathed to my son JAMES HALL one negro boy named Peter and one young mare named Clips, and I order and allow sixty pounds sterling to be raised all my estate to buy a tract of land for my said son JAMES HALL. Item. I give and bequeath to my son ARMSTED HALL one negro boy named Daniel. Item. I give and bequeathed to my daughter ANNE HOLLOWAY, two negroes George and Lucy. Item. I give and bequeath to my daughter SARAH WINN, two negroes Charles and Jude. Item. I give and bequeath to my daughter AMEY WALL, two negroes, Edith and Nancy. Item. I give and bequeath to my daughter LUCY HALL, one negro girl named Kizzy. Item. I give and bequeath to my daughter PRUDENCE HALL, one negro girl name Mary, and I nominate, constitute and appoint my son WILLIAM and my son THOMAS HALL my executors. Ratifying and confirming this, and no other to be my Last Will and Testament, and I hereby make void all other or forming wills or legacies.
