a. Note:   Theodore emigrated with his father and mother and the rest of his family in early 1881. They sailed out of Rotterdam, Holland on the ship "Amsterdam" owned and operated by the Netherlands-American Steam Navigation Company. The master of lthe "Amsterdam" was J. H. Taas. They arrived at the port of New York on 3-12-1881. The ship's manifest recorded that Adrianus(Theodore's father)and the family occupied the steerage portion of the ship during the voyage. Theodore was 11 years and 6 months old. Shortly after their arrival in New York, they soon made their way to Wisconsin. His father made their
 home on a farm in the City of De Pere in Brown County.
 Theodore was employed as an iron moulder.
